The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Lagos State has introduced QR codes to help eligible voters locate Permanent Voter Card (PVC) collection centres ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The commission said voters could access and scan the codes through its official website and social media platforms to identify their designated collection locations.

Speaking at a press conference at INEC’s Lagos headquarters, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Professor Ayobami Salami, urged eligible voters to collect their PVCs and verify their registration details before the elections.

Salami also advised residents to obtain election-related information from official sources, stressing the importance of participating in the electoral process.

INEC said preparations for the 2027 general elections were ongoing, including the procurement and testing of voter accreditation devices, improvements to result transmission systems, logistics planning, and the recruitment and training of election personnel.

According to the commission, the introduction of QR codes is part of efforts to make voter information more accessible and encourage eligible residents to collect their PVCs ahead of election day.
